Outsourcing Booms In HR Sector

As per the Bush administration and private-sector representatives, companies could now have considerable amounts of time and money if they outsourced their HR services to either the private sector or another agency. So in accordance to their vision the government has decided to outsource its jobs in the HR sector.

So you can expect an ample growth in the human resources sector. According to a report, the global HR BPO market will grow 27 per cent this year to more than $4.6 billion. This is a huge growth rate.

Over the next four years, as per the report, the HR market is to grow at a compound annual growth rate in excess of 30 percent and it will hit $14 billion in 2009. According to a survey, the new HR responsibilities would include training as well as traditional features such as payroll.

Now HR projects are more than payroll and benefit administration, it may include training, development and recruitment. So, now you will have much more scope to grow if you are in the HR sector.

What Is Outsourcing?

Some say job migration and outsourcing is political stuff. Some are of the opinion that it creates job, while others feel that it is a result of globalization. I also hear that  outsourcing will destroy the U.S. labor force. Is it true?

Now here is my version of all this:

(1)Job migration is the core competency assessments,
(2)The distribution and segmentation of know-how
(3)Cost management

Except all this it holds nothing.

In this cut-throat competition, companies have prioritized the tasks they should pursue as their core activity and decided that they really don’t need to engage in the whole set of tasks to remain competitive and profitable. This is where outsourcing begins.

The next thing is distribution of  expertise and cost management that inspire outsourcing.

The United States owned a huge relative chunk of IT expertise a few decades ago, but that expertise has become distributed across the globe over the past decade. This is what affects outsourcing decisions on every continent.

Do you agree or disagree with me? Do, let me know.

Bush To Outsource Poverty

President George Bush announces a plan to outsource poverty. I don't don't know what was your reaction when you first heard it, but as far as I am concerned, it is just an escapist view. It must have stunned the whole world. It was announced at a specially-called news conference.

Bush called this program 'No Poor Person Left Behind'. He said that poverty in America will be outsourced  beginning in June.

Poor people, the disabled, the chronically unemployed, the elderly poor, hurricane victims, and Medicare beneficiaries will be outsourced to poverty-stricken areas of the world.

I will simply say this shows that America has no quality to be a leader of the world. A leader never thinks about his own interest, he thinks about those, who make him the leader. Mr. Bush's concern should not be about only his own country, it should be about the whole world. This is how a leader leads. Outsourcing of poverty to get rid of poverty is no solution. I think it is a mean and loathsome plan.

One Stop Solution Under A Single Roof

As you can see, competition in the market is climbing newer heights daily. In this cut-throat competitive market of offshore outsourcing, you can not survive if you are singularly skilled.

If you are not customized and you don't provide almost all the services under a single roof, chances are very few and far between that you will flourish.

You need to find the one stop solution for your IT outsourcing problems. You should have the talent that can be utilized in more than one area. You can see many of the managers were initially programmers or developers and then they, as per the requirements, kept changing their jobs and duties to sustain the position of the company for the purpose of offshore outsourcing.

Many companies are finding the talents that are able to flourish where they are planted as per the needs of the company. Companies are now on the trawl for people who are good communicators, listeners and problem-solvers.

By and large, diversification of the services according to the needs and wants of the companies is of essence. You need to be the hub that provides the one stop solution under a single roof if you want to survive in the world of offshore outsourcing.

Outsourcing To earn India A Fortune

I've always felt that it is going to be difficult for any country to catch up with India in the business of outsourcing. A recent study reaffirms my faith.

The study conjectures that India could earn $60 billion a year by 2010 from information technology (IT) and outsourcing. The report was prepared by Nasscom, a lobby firm for Indian software and service companies, and international consulting firm McKinsey and Company. It noted that business worth $ 110 billion would be outsourced worldwide by 2010 and India is expected to get more than half of it.

Are you still cribbing about those Indianised accents. C'mon, be practical and live with the times! It is these Indianised accents that are getting in the moolah!

New Ways To Manage Outsourcing

You can find a major shift in the attitude of big players regarding formalization of outsourcing contracts. The size of outsourcing contracts has steadily dropped for the past two years.

I attribute this contraction to the lack of flexibility of  mega-outsourcing contracts.

In order to cut risks, corporations are reducing the scope and duration of these agreements. Moreover, they have started relying on multiple providers to perform specific tasks, rather than resting at the mercy of a single outsourcer for everything.

Search For New Markets - The Reason Behind Outsourcing

I always thought profit was the sole motivator of outsourcing. But a recent study proves that I was not entirely right.

A recent study by a major consultancy firm suggests that cost cutting may not be the the sole motive for companies to outsource. They seem to be focusing on winning new customers in emerging markets like Brazil, Russia, India and China.

China and India are viewed as the most promising markets, with nearly three fourths of all companies planning to sell their products there. Globalisation seems
absolutely unstoppable.

Now you know why so many companies are looking to India and China for outsourcing their services.

Is America outsourcing too many jobs

America has been outsourcing jobs for long. But has the number reached a level of concern. Some outsourcing critics believe that the US is giving away too many jobs. Which has left a lot of Americans unemployed.

According to the book entitled 'Outsourcing America', tens of thousands of engineering jobs have left America in the past three years. Which does not auger well for the American economy. In fact, the US government needs to take quick action or there would be no engineering jobs left for the Americans.

After all, there is no point in giving your food to others, if by doing so, you yourself will die of hunger.

Malaysia heads towards high level outsourcing

Outsource solutions of multinationals will now be available in Malaysia now on.

Malaysia's Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi launched an international initiative to take its shared services and outsourcing (SSO) industry to a higher level.

I believe that Malaysia can truly shine in the SSO industry. Malaysia’s unique package of commercial and lifestyle options will provide the global industry with overall cost savings, as well as quality services that are second to none.

All the best! Malaysia, I am waiting to see you shine.

The saga of outsourcing success in India

I find the feats attained by the Indian outsourcing industry truly inspiring. Over the last decade, India has been the leading offshore destination for global IT and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industries.

This is due to its huge pool of highly educated, unaccented English speaking workers who are willing to work for a fraction of what their European counterparts are paid.

You can't help being awestruck when you consider that these industries have transformed India from a slow-growth economy with a recurring balance of payments problems to a fast-growing economy.

Doesn't it sound fantastic that India's off shore industry earns foreign exchange revenue of about US$ 6 billion and employs about 350,000 people?

Outsourcing myth always plain to see

The executive plans to outsource everything. But, what happens to the employees?

The executive's mentality that Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) needed to reduce costs to improve its share price was the driving force behind this less than well thought out plan, a financial band-aid of monumental proportions.

Think of how many Australians lost their jobs to waltz in the world of the unemployed, while the executive outsourced everything?

What I mean to say is that is it all right to provide bread for hundreds of people in another country, but by snatching away the bread from your own country men's mouth? How can you justify such an action??

Security Concerns In Outsourcing

Did you think the whole process of outsourcing doesn't have much glitches except for those funny accents? Think again. There have been major security concerns about the process of outsourcing and I believe  these have the potential to derail the whole process.
Last year, companies including Bank of America, Choice Point, Citibank, and Time Warner lost vital customer information or have reported intrusions into their data banks due to outsourcing.
These incidents force you to think whether profit motives behind the whole concept of outsourcing provide enough reasons to take the risk of losing trusted and valued customers?

Banking firms use outsourcing for cost savings

I felt surprised when I heard that now banks will also bank on outsourcing for cost reduction.

Large continental businesses are actively adopting outsourcing, and even offshoring, to cut down on their costs. After adopting this policy some 2,400 of the bank’s clearing and processing jobs in the UK, Netherlands, US and Brazil have disappeared. This is a major feature of the restructuring taking place in the large banks.

Well, if this is the case then can the outsourcing countries expect bigger contracts and more employment generation?
